Classes & Courses
1
How do I book a class, cancel it, or what if I’m late?
All bookings are made online via our booking system.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so in advance according to our cancellation policy. If you’re running late, you’re still welcome to join, but the class will start on time and we may not be able to repeat missed instructions.
2
What if I miss a class?
If you miss a class without prior notice, unfortunately we are not able to offer a reschedule or refund.
If you know in advance that you won’t be able to attend, please contact us — we’ll do our best to help according to our cancellation policy.
3
Do I need prior experience with clay?
No experience is needed — beginners are very welcome.
We’ll guide you step by step through the process, so you can feel comfortable even if it’s your first time working with clay.
4
I forgot the date and time of my class — where can I check the schedule?
You can check your class details in your booking confirmation, whether that’s by email or the platform you used to book.
If you can’t find the information, feel free to message us and we’ll help you.
5
I made a piece during a workshop — what happens next?
After the workshop, your piece goes through several stages: drying, bisque firing, and, if included, glazing.
For handbuilding classes such as kurinuki, naive ceramics, kids’ days, and other handbuilding workshops, all of these steps are completed by our team, and your piece will be ready for pickup in approximately 5 weeks.
For wheel throwing classes, your piece will first go through bisque firing. After about 3 weeks, you can book a glazing session — or come later if you prefer. Please note:
-
we store bisque-fired pieces for up to 6 months
-
you need to book your glazing session within this time
-
after glazing and final firing, finished works are also stored for up to 6 months
This gives you flexibility while helping us keep storage organized.
6
I loved the workshop and want to continue doing ceramics. What should I do next?
We’re so happy to hear that.
You can continue your ceramics journey by joining our coworking space, signing up for courses, or attending more workshops. If you’re not sure what suits you best, just ask — we’ll help you choose.
7
I want to learn more — what are my options?
That’s great to hear — we’d love to support your progress.
You can continue developing your skills by:
-
joining our courses for structured learning
-
working regularly in coworking
-
booking private lessons or coaching for more focused guidance
If you’re not sure which option is best for you, just ask — we’ll help you find the right path.
8
What is included in the workshop price?
The workshop price includes everything:
-
materials
-
tools
-
firing
-
guidance during the session
You don’t need to pay anything extra.
9
Can I come with someone?
You’re welcome to come together, but each person must have their own booking.
Additional guests cannot participate in the class unless they are also booked.
10
What should I wear to class?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty.
11
Can I bring food?
We kindly ask you not to bring outside food.
We provide tea, coffee, water, and some cookies.
12
How many pieces can I make during a class, and what size can they be?
The number of pieces depends on the type of class:
-
Handbuilding classes: usually 1–2 pieces
-
Wheel throwing classes: usually 2 pieces, sometimes up to 3
We recommend focusing on quality rather than quantity, especially if it’s your first time. Size is always limited by kiln capacity, so if you’re planning something larger, please check with us in advance.
13
What should I do if my piece cracks during firing?
Ceramics is a natural and sometimes unpredictable process, and cracks can occasionally happen during firing.
If something goes wrong, we’ll make sure you’re taken care of — our goal is that you leave satisfied with your experience. Depending on the situation, we may offer a solution such as a replacement or another option.
14
How long do you store finished pieces and bisque-fired work?
We store both bisque-fired pieces and finished works for up to 6 months.
If your piece is bisque-fired, please make sure to book your glazing session within this time. After glazing and final firing, you’ll also have up to 6 months to pick up your finished work.
15
What is bisque, what is a finished piece, and what process does my work go through?
Ceramics goes through several stages:
-
Shaping — you create your piece
-
Drying — the piece dries completely
-
Bisque firing — the first firing, which makes the piece strong but still porous
-
Glazing — applying glaze for color and finish
-
Final firing — the glaze melts and the piece becomes finished and functional
Bisque refers to the piece after the first firing. A finished piece is after the glaze firing.
