Pottery Wheel Advanced Class
Next step on your pottery journey! Acquainted with the pottery wheel and clay!
Description
About the class: Our advanced wheel-throwing class is for those who have already taken their first step with the pottery wheel and are ready to improve their skills :) During this class, we’ll refresh the basics of centering and focus on forms and working on larger pieces. You’ll learn to use ribs for shaping and explore how to add decorative or functional details such as handles, lids, or other creative elements to your work. Level: Intermediate / Advanced Duration and timing: The class consists of two sessions: wheel modeling and glazing. Wheel modeling: approx. 5 hours (including a break) Glazing session (other day): approx. 2 hours The glazing session happens a few weeks after the first. Once your creations have dried and been through the first firing, you'll get to add glazes. The dates for the second session are flexible, so you can choose one that works for you. Number of Participants: The workshop will be held in a small group of 6 participants. The minimum number of participants in order for this class to take place is 4. Enjoy personalized attention in our intimate class setting. How to prepare for the class: Consider wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty. We'll provide an apron and all necessary materials for each participant. If you’re just starting your pottery journey, you can sign up for our “Pottery Wheel Class” :) All classes are in English. Extra languages are shown next to the teacher’s name.
Q&A and cancellation policy:
Cancellation policy for Wheel Class (PW) & others: Full refund if cancelled at least 14 days in advance. For cancellations after this period, we may offer you the opportunity to join another Pottery Wheel Class if we have available slots. Please note that cancellations made less than 7 days before the Pottery Wheel Class are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. You may transfer the class to another person if you can't make it. Our studio is for adults. We allow children aged 14 and over to be accompanied by an adult, but both would need to book a place separately (except for Kids Clay Day where the recommended age of the participants is in the class description and depends on the class). We kindly ask you not to bring anyone who is not participating in the class or course, as our studio does not have enough space for comfortable waiting. How to prepare for the class: Consider wearing clothes you don't mind getting a bit dirty. We'll provide an apron and all necessary materials for each participant. Gift Card: If you're interested in gifting this workshop, check out our Gift Voucher options. Our workshops occur monthly, allowing flexibility for scheduling. Perfect for birthdays or special surprises. Please note: Ceramics is a handmade process, and while we experience minimal issues in our studio, occasional imperfections can occur during production. If something happens to your work, don’t worry – we’ll always find a solution to remake or fix it together. We will store your work for up to 1 year after the class (date is marked on the bottom of the piece). After that, it will either be recycled or passed on to a new home.
